UMAC Player of the Week Awards - Sept. 25, 2017
ST. PAUL, Minn.--- The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) announced its Player of the Week award winners Monday in the sports of football, volleyball, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's cross country and men's and women's golf. The UMAC Player of the Week awards are nominated for by UMAC coaches and sports information directors (SIDs) and selected by SIDs. The awards are published each Monday afternoon.
The award winners and descriptions of their accomplishments for the week are below:

FOOTBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Joshua Arndt, Jr., Martin Luther
Rosemount, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran
- Led Martin Luther to 34-20 win over Greenville
- Caught three touchdown passes including a long of 61 yards
- Finished with five receptions for 138 yards
FOOTBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Javon Muhammad, Jr., MacMurray
Chicago, Ill./Glenbard West
- Led MacMurray defensively in win over Iowa Wesleyan
- Recorded three sacks to add to UMAC-leading six in conference games
- Finished with 11 tackles including five for a loss of 26 yards
FOOTBALL SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Tanner Kuhne, So., Eureka
Princeton, Ill./Princeton
- Went 6-for-6 on point-after attempts in Eureka's win over Crown
- Averaged 59.1 yards per kick on seven attempts
- Also recorded an assisted tackle on a kickoff that reached the 2-yard line
VOLLEYBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Lindsey Peterson, Sr., Northwestern
Sheffield, Iowa/West Fork
- Contributed to five wins for Northwestern on the week
- Collected 72 kills (4.50 k/s) including 22 in a 3-2 win over No. 10 Gustavus
- Added 55 digs (3.44 d/s), 13 assists and eight blocks
VOLLEYBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Morgan Miller, So., Minnesota Morris
Twin Valley, Minn./Ada-Borup
- Helped Minnesota Morris to four conference wins on the week
- Finished with 14 blocks (1.17 b/s) and leads the UMAC in that category
- Added 34 kills (2.83 k/s) to her efforts
VOLLEYBALL SETTER OF THE WEEK
Emily VerWay, Jr., Wisconsin-Superior
Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley
- Tallied 132 assists (10.2 per set) to lead Yellowjackets to 3-1 mark on the week
- Picked up a season-high 44 assists in four-set win over St. Scholastica
- Added 36 digs and eight kills to her stat line
MEN'S SOCCER OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Luke Buckton, Jr., St. Scholastica
Bath, England/Writhlington School
- Tallied nine points in two conference wins for the Saints
- Recorded one goal and three assists in win over Northland
- Scored both Saint goals in 2-1 decision over Minnesota Morris
MEN'S SOCCER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Sandy Davidson-Hunt, Sr., St. Scholastica
Kenora, Ontario/St. Thomas Aquinas
- Led St. Scholastica defensively to two key UMAC wins
- Posted a shutout against Northland with two key diving saves
- Tallied four saves including several diving efforts in 2-1 win vs. UMM
WOMEN'S SOCCER OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Janelle Rouillard, So., St. Scholastica
Dayton, Minn./Rogers
- Finished with five points in Saints tie and win on the week
- Tallied a two-goal effort in 3-1 win over Minnesota Morris
- Picked up an assist on the Saints' lone goal in tie with Northland
WOMEN'S SOCCER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Erin Feddersen, Jr., Martin Luther
Great Mills, Md./Great Mills
- Helped Martin Luther remain undefeated in league play with two wins
- Posted nine saves in two shutout wins over NCU and UWS
- Has not surrened a goal in five UMAC wins for the Knights
MEN'S GOLF PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Sam Havnen, Jr., Bethany Lutheran
Fairmont, Minn./Fairmont
- Finished tie for 26th at competitive Wartburg Invite on hot weekend
- Recorded a low round of 75 (+3) on day one
- Finished with a score of 156 (+12)
WOMEN'S GOLF PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Arica Sheff, Jr., St. Scholastica
Cloquet, Minn./Cloquet
- Placed fifth at the Luther Invite over the weekend
- Posted second and third-lowest UMAC rounds this season
- Recorded low round of 83 (+11) with a final two-day score of 167 (+23)
