ST. The No. 1 seed Saints earned a critical plit with the Storm on the road to avoid losing the title and the top seed for the second-straight season. The win also sealed the deal on the program's 20th regular season crown in Saints' history. With two victories Saturday, the Saints finish with a 14-2 conference record.

Though the Storm missed out on a shot at the conference title, they will be rewarded for outstanding work in the regular season with the No. 2 seed in the tournament. The Storm boast a 12-4 league record to tie the No. 3 seed University of Northwestern. After sweeping the Eagles, though, and managing to take a win from the Saints, the Storm will be the No. 2 seed in the tournament.

Northwestern finished with a 12-4 UMAC record to third in the standings. A split with the University of Minnesota Morris Friday forced the Eagles into a tie with the Storm, but lost out on the tiebreaker with Crown after losing both games early in the season. The Eagles were the lone team to hand the Saints a UMAC loss this season until today and should give any tournament team a run for their money.

A year ago, the University of Wisconsin-Superior punched its ticket to the NCAA championships after unseating St. Scholastica from posteason glory winning the UMAC tournament. After graduating a plethora of talent, the Yellowjackets managed to return to the postseason finishing with a 9-7 UMAC record for the No. 4 seed after sweeping North Central University Saturday to claim the final berth.

Last week, Bethany Lutheran College split with Wisconsin-Superior to help punch its ticket to the postseason tournament for the first time since 2013. With a win against Crown Monday, the Vikings have earned the No. 5 seed finishing 8-8 in league play. They will also get another crack at the Yellowjackets in the opening game Thursday.

Thursday's opening action will see four games with all five teams playing. No. 4 Wisconsin-Superior will play at 10 a.m. against No. 5 Bethany Lutheran followed immediately by No. 3 Northwestern against No. 2 Crown at 12 p.m. Game three will see No. 1 St. Scholastica take on the winner of game one at 2 p.m. before the first elimination game at 4 p.m. All tournament games will take place at St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota.
