UMAC Player of the Week Awards - April 17, 2017
ST. PAUL, Minn.--- The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) announced its Player of the Week award winners Monday in the sports of baseball, softball, men's and women's tennis, and men's and women's outdoor track and field. The UMAC Player of the Week awards are nominated for UMAC coaches and sports information directors (SIDs) and selected by SIDs. The awards are published each Monday afternoon.
The award winners and descriptions of their accomplishments for the week are below:

BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Cory Albertson, Fy., Wisconsin-Superior

- Helped Wisconsin-Superior go 3-1 last week batting 5-of-12 (.417)
- Tallied three home runs, five RBI and six runs scored with 1.167 slugging
- Picked up an assist on a throw from right field and pitched final inning vs. Finlandia
BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK

- Earned a combine shutout win for Saints over Bethany Lutheran
- Pitched four perfect innings striking out four and giving up no hits
- Has yet to allow an earned run in 20.2 innings pitched this season
SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

- Went 10-of-13 (.769) with three RBI in Saints' four UMAC wins last week
- Scored five runs and went 4-for-4 in stolen base attempts
- Compiled a .846 slugging percentage and .769 on-base mark
SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK

- Picked up two wins in 10 innings of shutout pitching for St. Scholastica
- Threw 11 strikeouts and allowed four hits to hold opposing batters to .114 avearge
- Added eight RBI on four hits at the plate
MEN'S TENNIS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

- Helped Vikings to 7-2 in over Martin Luther last week
- Went undefeated at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles
- Dropped just five games in both singles and doubles in the match
WOMEN'S TENNIS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

MEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

- Was the only Division III runner to finish in the top 11 in the event

- Earned three top-five finishes in six events at two meets last week
- Placed second in the shot put Saturday with a UMAC-best 12.41 meters (40-8.75)
