ST. PAUL, Minn.--- The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) announced its Player of the Week award winners Monday in the sports of baseball, softball, men's and women's tennis, and men's and women's outdoor track and field. The UMAC Player of the Week awards are nominated for UMAC coaches and sports information directors (SIDs) and selected by SIDs. The awards are published each Monday afternoon. 

The award winners and descriptions of their accomplishments for the week are below:

BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
7137Brian Minks, Sr., St. Scholastica
St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Cathedral

- Extended his hitting streak to eight-straight games with wins vs. UMM
- Went 7-of-8 (.875) with three doubles,one home run, six RBI and five runs
- Boasted a .900 on-base percentage and 1.625 slugging mark


BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Blue Earth, Minn./Blue Earth Area

- Helped Bethany Lutheran to UMAC-opening sweep of Northland
- Struck out a school-record 17 batters in nine innings pitched
- Improved to 5-0 on the mound this season with the win


SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Steinbach, Manitoba/St. Mary's Academy

- Helped UWS to four UMAC wins over the weekend
- Went 10-of-13 (.769) with two doubles, three triples and a home run
- Drove in three runs, scored five and boasted a 1.615 slugging mark


SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
7111Megan Pehrson, Fy., Wisconsin-Superior
Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids

- Earned three wins in Yellowjackets' four UMAC wins 
- Tossed three complete games and shutout UMM in back-to-back games
- Struck out 24 batters and gave up three earned runs in 19 innings 


MEN'S TENNIS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

- Won both of his matches in Vikings 5-4 loss Saturday
- Picked up a straight-sets win at No. 4 singles
- Dropped just two games in victory at No. 3 doubles


WOMEN'S TENNIS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

MEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

MEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Belgrade, Mont../Manhattan Christian

- Won the high jump at Luther Relays with UMAC-best 1.87 meters (6-1.5)
- Placed fourth in triple jump with UMAC-best mark of 12.79 meters (41-11.5)

WOMEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
7140Hannah Goemann, Sr., Minnesota Morris
Wells, Minn./United South Central

- Placed first at Saint John's Invite in the 1,500-meter run
- Clocked a UMAC-best time of 4:44.18 which ranks 44th in Division III
- Helped 4 x 200-meter relay squad to third place finish


WOMEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Ironwood, Mich./A.D. Johnston

- Set new UWS outdoor pole vault record at Luther Relays
- Cleared 3.20 meters (10-6) which ranks second in the UMAC
- Helped UWS set a new school record in 4 x 200-meter relay
