Mom
What is something most people don't know about you?
I am a two year captain and my teammates call me mom.
What is the greatest lesson you have learned so far from being a college athlete?
The greatest lesson I have gained from being a college athlete is learning that sports are not an individual thing. A hitter cannot kill the ball if the back row players does not get the pass up to the setter to set the ball to the hitter. Then and only then can a team thrive and win when they all are working together in unity. As I go into the work field next year, I know the same idea describes the work environment. A business or organization cannot succeed without a team behind it.
Tell us about a unique experience you've had as a student at your Crown?
Last May, Crown College took 12 students (including myself) and a faculty member on a mission trip to Ecuador. There, the team got to witness with tribal people and encouraging missionaries.
Who has been the most influential on your athletics career and why?
My parents, because they are two of the most supportive and encouraging people I know. In all three years of playing volleyball, I can count on my hand how many games they have missed.
