UMAC Player of the Week Awards - Oct. 23, 2017

ST. PAUL, Minn.--- The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) announced its Player of the Week award winners Monday in the sports of football, volleyball, men's and women's soccer and men's and women's cross country. The UMAC Player of the Week awards are nominated for by UMAC coaches and sports information directors (SIDs) and selected by SIDs. The awards are published each Monday afternoon. 

The award winners and descriptions of their accomplishments for the week are below:

FOOTBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
7499Leanthony Reasnover, Jr., Eureka
Momence, Ill./Momence
- Led Eureka offensively to a critical 37-20 win over MacMurray Saturday
- Rushed for a career-high 274 yards on 42 carries with three touchdowns
- Became just Eureka's second 3,000-yard career rusher



FOOTBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
7581Joseph Mosley, So., Iowa Wesleyan
Cypress, Texas/Cypress Springs
- Helped Iowa Wesleyan to a 24-17 win over Minnesota Morris
- Recorded 13 tackles including 12 unassited and two for a loss
- Added two pass breakups, a forced fumble, an interception and a blocked kick



FOOTBALL SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
7431Donovan Blatz, Jr., St. Scholastica
Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View
- Went a perfect 7-for-7 on extra point attempts in Saints' win Saturday
- Recorded three touchbacks on kick offs and averaged 50.9 yards per kick
- Averaged 36.5 yards on two punts and downed one inside the 20 yardline



VOLLEYBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
7577Marissa Ekness, Sr., Minnesota Morris
Webster, Minn./New Prague
- Helped Minnesota Morris to 2-1 week with a key 3-2 UMAC win vs. Martin Luther
- Collected 49 kills (4.08 k/s) in three matches and hit .248 on the week
- Tallied three double-doubles averaging 3.17 d/s



VOLLEYBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
7374Katie Reitsma, Sr., Minnesota Morris
Sauk Centre, Minn./Sauk Centre
- Collected 89 digs (7.42 d/s) in three matches for the Cougars
- Compiled a 49-dig effort against Wisconsin-Stout
- Became the all-time digs leader in Cougar program history Saturday



VOLLEYBALL SETTER OF THE WEEK
7582Espi Austvold, So., St. Scholastica
Spicer, Minn./New London-Spicer
- Tallied 137 assists (9.79 per set) in three matches for the Saints
- Record a career-high 58 assists in a five-set victory over Hamline
- Collected a double-double and finished with 2.36 d/s
 


MEN'S SOCCER OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
7555Josiah Donat, Sr., Northwestern
Elk River, Minn./Washtenaw Christian Academy
- Led Northwestern with four goals scored on the week
- Scored all three goals in 3-2 comeback win over Martin Luther
- Ranks first in conference goals (13) and  second in points (27)
 


MEN'S SOCCER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
7576Jonah Garcia, Sr., Wisconsin-Superior
Eagan, Minn./Eagan
- Led Wisconsin-Superior defense in two key conference wins
- Backline allowed just two goals in two-game span
- Assisted in 3-0 shutout of Northwestern



WOMEN'S SOCCER OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
7580Molly Hancuh, Sr., Minnesota Morris
Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View
- Involved in all six goals in two key conference wins for the Cougars 
- Scored twice in Minnesota Morris' 3-2 road win over Martin Luther
- Tallied a goal and assist in key win over Northland



WOMEN'S SOCCER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
7530Kailee Katt, Jr., St. Scholastica
Esko, Minn./Esko
- Helped anchor St. Scholastica in a UMAC win and 1-1-1 week
- Tallied two assists in solid 2-2 tie with Macalester
- Scored a goal vs. Crown from 40 yards out



MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER OF THE WEEK
7575David Roanhorse, Jr., Minnesota Morris
Sanders, Ky./Owatonna
- Top Division III finisher at the Mount Marty Invite Saturday
- Finished the 8,000-meter course 21st overall in a field of 104 runners
- Clocked a time of 27:33.1 to lead the Cougars to fourth as a team



WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER OF THE WEEK
7495Katherine Novak, Jr., Minnesota Morris
Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park
- Top Division III finisher at the Mount Marty Invite Saturday
- Finished the 5,000-meter course 22nd overall in a field of 94 runners
- Clocked a time of 20:39.79 to lead the Cougars to fifth as a team
