ST. PAUL, Minn.--- The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) announced its Player of the Week award winners Monday in the sports of men's and women's basketball and men's and women's indoor track and field. The UMAC Player of the Week awards are nominated for UMAC coaches and sports information directors (SIDs) and selected by SIDs. The awards are published each Monday afternoon. 

The award winners and descriptions of their accomplishments for the week are below:

MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
6939Porter Morrell, Sr., Northwestern
Elk River, Minn./Homeschool

- Averaged 24.5 ppg in two wins to help Northwestern remain unbeaten in UMAC play 
- Scored 27 points and recorded three assists in a one-point win over Bethany Lutheran
- Shot 65 percent from the field and 69 percent from 3-point range in two-game span


WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Litchfield, Minn./Litchfield

- Helped UWS remain UMAC undefeated scoring 16.5 ppg in two wins
- Tallied 20 points and five rebounds in a big win over Minnesota Morris
- Shot 54 percent from the field and added three blocks in two-game span


MEN'S INDOOR TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
6936Matt Swanson, So., Wisconsin-Superior
Superior, Wis./Superior

- Took second in the 800-meter run at Bemidji Open 
- Clocked a personal-best 2:10.88 in the event to lead the UMAC this season
- Finished third in the 400-meter run clocking 53.91


MEN'S INDOOR FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
6885C.J. Pillath, So., Wisconsin-Superior
Coleman, Wis./Coleman

- Won the weight throw at the Bemidji Open Saturday 
- Threw 16.53 meters (54-2.75) which ranks 15th in Division III this season
- Finished second in the shot put with a mark of 13.32 meters (43-8.5)


WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
6937Sammi Argir, Jr., St. Scholastica
Chisholm, Minn./Hibbing

- Finished second in the 200-meter dash at the Bemidji Open Saturday 
- Her 200-meter time of 27.50 is the best in the UMAC this season
- Placed first in the shot put to rank second in Division III in pentathlon this season


WOMEN'S INDOOR FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Caledonia, Minn./Caledonia

- Placed second in the high jump at the Bemidji Open Saturday 
- Tied the winner clearing a personal-best mark of 1.60 meters (5-3)
