What do you enjoy most about competing in the UMAC?
I enjoy competing in the UMAC because the teams are very welcoming and social. Despite collegiate athletics getting pretty competitive, I have always had a friendly experience with all of the athletes and coaches.
What do you love most about being a student-athlete at Wisconsin-Superior?
I like being an athlete at UW-Superior because we have a lot of opportunities to get out into the community and help out with outreach, promote our school, or just volunteer for special events. I also think it's a pretty cool feeling to put on a jersey and represent your school.
Tell us about a unique experience you have had at Wisconsin-Superior.
I have gotten the opportunity to lead a small-group bible study directed towards athletes, and share my faith through Cru and Athletes in Action.
What is the greatest leasson you have learned so far from being a college athlete?
I can say that I have learned three big lessons as a student-athlete:
1. Your body can withstand more than your mind- don't let it fool you.
2. You are more than a grade, time, ranking, or place.
3. It is important to find joy in everything you do. If you don't, and you act because you "have to", or because "somebody told you to" you will not enjoy anything. If you seek joy every day in the things that you are passionate about, you will not only be happier, but see better results.
