ST. PAUL - The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Game of the Week is a feature that takes place each week throughout the conference portion of the season with one contest being selected and highlighted as the UMAC Game of the Week.

This week's UMAC Game of the Week will take place on Saturday, February 27th as the University of Northwestern and the College of St. Scholastica meet in Duluth in an early season women's tennis match up. The Eagles and the Saints were predicted to share the 2016 Regualr Season title in the annual UMAC Coaches Preseason Poll.

About the Eagles
The University of Northwestern women’s tennis team is off to strong 4-1 start this season. UNW’s lone loss came in a heartbreaking match (5-4) match against St. Catherine University two weeks ago. The Eagles are coming off of last Friday’s dominant 8-1 win over Hamline University last weekend in White Bear Lake.

Karen Moe has had an impressive start to her junior campaign, as the Fargo native is a perfect 4-0 at No. 1 singles and has already twice been named the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week. Rachel Bostrom and Brooke Lapinski also have unblemished records (5-0) in singles play. Nikki Edin and Bostrom have teamed up to put together a 3-0 mark in doubles play. Saturday’s match will be the Eagles’ final contest before they head south to Florida for their annual spring break trip.

About the Saints
The St. Scholastica women's tennis team is off to a 3-2 start this season. The Saints are coming off a NCAA Division III Tournament appearance in 2015; their fourth NCAA Tournament appearance in program history. CSS suffered a 9-0 loss to a strong regionally-ranked Carleton College squad last Sunday. Prior to that loss, the Saints defeated Macalester College 9-0.

St. Scholastica is 19-11 in singles action so far in 2016. Sophomore Sarah Coryell is 4-1, while junior Madeleine Scanlan is 3-1, including 2-0 at the No. 1 spot. CSS is 9-6 in doubles play, including 4-1 at the No. 3 flight. Prior to the Carleton sweep, the Saints were unbeaten at No. 2 singles and No. 3 doubles.
