Sara Eisenhauer Hired as UMAC Assistant Commissioner

The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) has hired Sara Eisenhauer as its Assistant Commissioner.
UMAC Fall Student-Athletes Earn Record 466 Academic All-Conference Awards

The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) once again set a record for fall semester academic all-conference awards with 466 student-athletes earning a 3.5 or better grade point average (GPA) in their respective semester of competition.
Game of the Week: North Central at Minnesota Morris - Men's Basketball

This week's Game of the Week will take place on Saturday, January 30th at 3 p.m. as North Central University travels to the University of Minnesota Morris in men's basketball action.
NEWS AND NOTES
Bethany Lutheran College
The women’s basketball team earned their seventh victory in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference on Saturday with a victory over conference rival in Martin Luther. The Vikings currently stand in third place, only behind UW-Superior and Northwestern.
Freshman Haley Sandin led the Vikings with 19 points and seven rebounds.
The men’s basketball team also defeated the Knights on Saturday afternoon to stay in the hunt for postseason play. The Vikings earned the season sweep of the Knights.
Four Vikings reached double-figures in the victory. Freshman Austin Bauer led the way with 16 points off the bench.
The Bethany Indoor Track and Field teams competed in the Cobber Duals with many Bethany athletes breaking school records once again.
College of St. Scholastica
The men's and women's track & field team competed at the Warren Bowlus Open, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Stout on Saturday. Kevin Wagner competed in his second heptathlon of the season and won it with a point total of 4,864, which currently ranks second in NCAA Division III. On the women's side, Casey Hovland (3000m) and Emily Lundgren (600m) won events for the second straight week and Jordan Johnson won and PRd in the 5,000m run.
Northland College made 16 3-point field goals in Saturday's overtime victory over Men's Basketball, which are the most allowed by the Saints since December of 1994.
Crown College
The men’s and women’s basketball teams earned an exciting sweep over North Central on Friday night, with the men prevailing 91-87 and the women holding on for a 58-55 win.
Austin VanDerHeyden recorded his ninth double-double on the season against North Central. VanDerHeyden also became Crown’s All-Time leading rebounder in the NCAA era, topping four-year starter Truman Shetler.
Desiree Davis had 19 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 steals against NCU.
Martin Luther College
First year guard T.J. Babinec set a new MLC single-season record for three-point field goals in a season with his 65th three-pointer on Saturday against Bethany Lutheran. Babinec broke the previous record of 64, set by Jeff Loberger during the 2002-03 season.
Junior wing Mariah Schoof moved into third place in MLC women's basketball program history with 82 career blocks. She also ranks fourth in program history with 97 career three-point field goals.
University of Minnesota Morris
Minnesota Morris men's basketball won the UMAC Game of the Week on Saturday and moved into a third place in the UMAC standings. Morris has won six of their last eight conference games after starting 1-3.
The track and field team had their first full meet of the year. The Cougars had 15 top-ten finishes at the Cobber Duals.
University of Northwestern
The UNW women’s basketball team won a pair of league games over the weekend, defeating Minnesota Morris and Crown to better its conference record to 10-1. Amy Berglund averaged 16.5 points per game to lead the Eagles.
The men’s basketball team improved to 17-3 overall and 9-2 in the UMAC with victories over Minnesota Morris and Crown. Will Gisler averaged 15.5 points per game, while shooting a blistering 75 percent from the field to lead the Eagles to a pair of victories.
The men’s and women’s track and field teams had a strong showing at the UW-River Falls Open Saturday. Vanessa Whyte ran to a time of 1:52.60 in the 600-meter run – the 19th fastest mark in program history – to lead the UNW women, while Brent Wipf’s second-place finish in the 1,000-meter run is the second-best mark in program history.
The men’s and women’s tennis teams opened the season in style, as the men’s team defeated the Milwaukee School of Engineering (7-2) and North Central (9-0) Saturday, while the women’s team swept North Central, 9-0, in the season opener. The women will take on St. Ben’s Saturday evening at 5:30 p.m.
