ST. PAUL -- The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Game of the Week is a feature that takes place each week throughout the conference portion of the season with one contest being selected and highlighted as the UMAC Game of the Week.

This week's Game of the Week will take place on Saturday, January 16th at 5 p.m. as the University of Wisconsin-Superior travels to the University of Northwestern in women's basketball action. Saturday's game between the Eagles and Yellowjackets will be a match-up of the two top teams of the conference, as both schools enter the weekend owning a perfect 6-0 record in UMAC play. 

About the Eagles:
The University of Northwestern women’s basketball team enters the weekend with an 11-3 overall record and 6-0 mark in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) play. The Eagles are coming off a sweep of Bethany Lutheran (77-56) and Martin Luther (80-67) on the road last weekend. Regan Cooper paced the Eagles, averaging over 16 points in last week’s three contests.

Amy Berglund leads the way for the Eagles this winter, as the sophomore is averaging better than 13 points per game. She is shooting 52 percent from the field, which ranks second in the conference to teammate Regan Cooper (54.1 percent). Cooper is third in the UMAC with an average of 8.3 rebounds per game. Tiffany Stubbs, who has connected on 35 3-pointers this season, sits third in the league with a 44.3 shooting percentage from downtown.

About the Yellowjackets: 
The University of Wisconsin-Superior women's basketball team enters the weekend on an eight game win streak, and with a perfect 6-0 UMAC record. Despite the Yellowjacket's 11-2 record and 75.5 points-per-game average, the team only has one player, Hailey Kontny, who averages in double figures in points-per-game.The sophomore transfer from UMD is currently ranked fourth in conference scoring with a 13.8 point per game average. 

This game will mark the first match-up between UW-Superior and Northwestern since December 10, 2013. The Yellowjackets won that matchup 77-52. UW-Superior holds the all-time series lead against Northwestern 11-9.

Game Notes: 
- UW-Superior leads the all-time series 11-9, winning 10 of the last 11 meetings.

- Amy Berglund ranks ninth in the country (Division III) in steals per game (4.21).

- Yellowjacket Head Coach Don Mulhern is two wins away from being the all-time winningnest coach in UWS Women's Basketball History. 

- UNW and UW-Superior are the top two shooting teams in the UMAC, as the Yellowjackets (46.9 percent) sit atop the conference, followed by the Eagles (43.6 percent).

- Both teams enter the weekend a perfect 6-0 in loop play.

- The Eagles own a 15-2 conference record at home the last three seasons.
