CSS Sweeps First Outdoor Track & Field Player of the Week Honors
BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Adam Geiger, Bethany Lutheran College
Geiger pelted balls all over the field last week hitting a remarkable .548 in seven contests (17-for-31) to help Bethany to a nearly perfect start to the conference season. He leads the UMAC in batting with a .474 average.
BASEBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Jonathan Kock, Martin Luther College
Kock threw his first career shutout on Friday to help MLC to its first UMAC win of the season over Northwestern. He scattered seven hits while striking out six.
SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Molly Olson, University of Minnesota Morris
In four games last week Olson led the Cougars with 11 RBI in 13 at bats. She hit .615, slugged 1.231 on eight hits and scored five times adding two home runs and 16 total bases.
SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Mackenzie Weatherly, University of Minnesota Morris
Weatherly appeared in five games last week earning four wins on the week, pitching 20.2 innings without giving up an earned run. She struck out 18 batters in 17 innings in conference games.
WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Karen Moe, University of Northwestern
Moe had little difficulty in Northwestern's lone bout of the week against Bethel. She joined Megan Johnson for an 8-1 doubles win before defeating No. 2 singles opponent Abby Kreklau 6-0, 6-1. Moe and Johnson are 11-3 in 2015, while Moe is 13-1 in singles action this year.
MEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD ATHLETE OF WEEK
Andy Egelkraut, College of St. Scholastica
Aaron Egelkraut had a career personal best in the 400 m hurdles at the Ashton May Invite hosted by UW-La Crosse on Friday night. His time of 57.93 earned him a second place finish in the event, besting his previous PR by 1.3 seconds. The time ranks first in the UMAC.
WOMEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Nicole Christianson, College of St. Scholastica
Nicole Christianson placed first in the high jump and second in the triple jump at the Ashton May Invite hosted by UW-La Crosse on Friday. Nicole's high jump of 1.65 m / 5' 5" currently ranks her sixth in NCAA Division III and first in the UMAC. Her triple jump performance of 10.98 m / 36' 0.25" was an outdoor personal best and ranks her first in the UMAC.
