Video Interview with Individual Champion: Charles Corbett, Unversity of Wisconsin-Superior
ST. PAUL – Following the conclusion of Saturday’s Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Men’s Cross Country Championship the top 15 individual runners were awarded with all-conference honors. The top seven runners in the field were named to the All-UMAC first-team with those finishing eighth through 15
th earning second team accolades.
2015 Team Champion the College of St. Scholastica led the list of honorees with five individuals being named to the 15 member all-conference team.
The University of Wisconsin-Superior, who finished five points behind the Saints and in second place in the team competition, had three individuals earn All-Conference recognition. The Yellowjackets were led by 2015 UMAC Men’s Cross Country Individual Champion Charles Corbett who completed the 8k race in a time of 25:54.
Martin Luther College also had three individuals finish in the top 15 while the University of Northwestern added two individuals and Bethany Lutheran College had one.
Wisconsin-Superior head coach Glen Drexler was selected by his peers as the 2015 UMAC Men’s Cross Country Coach of the Year after having three individuals place in the top five at Saturday’s race.
For the fifth straight year Martin Luther won the team sportsmanship award, an accolade that is selected by the UMAC coaches and awarded to the team who best represents sportsmanship throughout the entire season, including the championship event. The following individuals were named to the individual sportsmanship list for displaying positive sportsmanship throughout the 2015 season:
