Video Interview Individual Champion: Casey Hovland, College of St. Scholastica
ST. PAUL – Upon completion of Saturday’s Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Women’s Cross Country Championship the league awarded all-conference honors to the top 15 individual finishers with the top seven named to the All-UMAC first-team. Those individuals finishing in eighth through 15
th place earned second-team recognition.
2015 UMAC Women’s Cross Country Team Champion the College of St. Scholastica led all teams on the all-conference list with five individuals earning all-conference accolades. The Saints were led by 2015 UMAC Women’s Cross Country Individual Champion Casey Hovland who finished the 6k race in a time 23:45.3.
Saints head coach Steve Pfingsten was selected by his peers as the 2015 Women’s Cross Country Coach of the Year after leading his team to their 14
th title in the last 15 years.
Joining the five Saints on the 15 member all-conference team were three runners from the University of Minnesota Morris and Bethany Lutheran College, two individuals from the University of Wisconsin-Superior and one honoree from North Central University and the University of Northwestern.
Bethany Lutheran won the team sportsmanship award, an accolade that is selected by the UMAC coaches to recognize the team who best represents sportsmanship throughout the entire season, including the championship event. The following student-athletes received individual sportsmanship honors:
