St. Scholastica women claim 10th straight UMAC Outdoor Track title

MORRIS, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's track & field team once again proved its dominance over the rest of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) on Saturday, winning the Outdoor Championship title by 92 points over the rest of the field.
The Saints accumulated 292 points on their way to the title and won 13 events. The University of Minnesota Morris was second with 200 points. Bethany Lutheran College was third with 46 points. The University of Northwestern placed fourth with 43 points and Martin Luther College was fifth with 32 points.
Laurel Ohaju (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Central HS) led a trio of Saints in the top three spots in the 400m dash. Ohaju's winning time was 1:00.45.
Maggie Kurtovich (Andover, Minn./Andover HS) was second and
Andrea Mogren (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) was third. Ohaju also won the 200m dash with a time of 26.55.
The 4x400m relay team of Kurtovich, Ohaju, Mogren and
Brianna Buske (Bloomer, Wis./Bloomer HS) was victorious with a time of 4:06.26.
Jordan Johnson (Poplar, Wis./Northwestern HS) was champion in the 3,000m steeplechase finishing in 12:07.96.
Danielle Dickson (Roseville, Minn./Totino Grace HS/Roseville HS) earned the top spot in the 100m dash, posting a time of 13.07.
Bre Adams (Crystal, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS) won the 800m run with a time of 2:20.68 as she beat out teammate Buske.
Amy Campbell (Cloquet, Minn./Cloquet HS) won the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:08.31, edging teammate
Brea Durovec (Meadowlands, Minn./Floodwood HS).
Chelsea Johnson (North Branch, Minn./Chisago Lakes HS) took top honors in the 5,000m run, finishing in 18:45.31.
Adams was runner-up in the 1,500m run, posting a time of 4:59.78.
Hannah Russert (Caledonia, Minn./Caledonia HS ) was second in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.59. Durovec was third in that event.
Becky Huberty (Lena, Wis./Lena HS) won the shot put with a program and meet record toss of 44'7" (13.59m). Huberty also won the hammer throw with a meet record toss of 176'2" (53.71m).
Brittany Ludwig (Alexandria, Minn./Jefferson HS) won the discus with a program and meet record toss of 139'6" (42.51m).
Jadyn Bonasera (Princeton, Minn./Princeton HS) was second in that event.
Rachel Harmston (Cook, Minn./North Woods HS) led a CSS sweep of the top four spots in the long jump. Harmston's championship leap was 16'7.25" (5.06m). Dickson was second, Mogren third and
Rachael Hoium (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS) fourth in that event.
Nicole Christianson (Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids HS) was champion in the triple jump with a mark of 35'7.75" (10.86m). Hoium was runner-up in that event. Christianson was second in the high jump, clearing 5'2.5" (1.59m).
Ashley Schwantke (Brook Park, Minn./Hinckley-Finlayson HS) was runner-up in the javelin throw with a mark of 101'8" (30.98m).
Olivia Krejcarek (Manitowoc, Wis./Manitowoc Roncalli HS) was second in the pole vault, clearing a height of 9'10.75" (3.02m).
The 4x100m relay team of Russert, Dickson,
Milana Walerius (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake HS) and Harmston was second with a time of 52.62. The 4x800m relay team of
Paige Muehlhauser (Cambridge, Minn./Cambridge-Isanti HS), Campbell,
Anna Nelson (Coon Rapids, Minn./Coon Rapids HS) and
Emily Lundgren (Aitkin, Minn./Aitkin HS) was also second with a time of 10:22.84.
Some members of the Saints team will be at the Dr. Keeler Invitational at North Central College (Ill.) on Thursday and Friday, while others will be at the Eagle Open, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse on Friday.
