DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica women's track & field team, who is ranked 13th nationally by the USTFCCCA, won its fifth straight Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Indoor Championship on Saturday at the Burns Wellness Fieldhouse.

The Saints won with 274 points. They were followed by the University of Minnesota Morris who had 119 points. The University of Northwestern was third with 56 points and Bethany Lutheran College was fourth with 28 points.

Chelsea Johnson set a UMAC meet record in the 5000m run winning by 41 seconds over the rest of the field with a time of 18:16.57. Johnson was second in the mile run with a program record time of 5:15.36.

Bre Adams broke a meet record in the 800m run, posting a winning time of 2:21.24. Brianna Buske was second in that event.

The Saints swept the top five spots in the 400m dash led by Laurel Ohaju, who had a time of 1:00.03. Maggie Kurtovich was second, Andrea Mogren third, Emily Lundgren fourth and Amy Campbell fifth.

Ohaju also won the 200m dash, finishing in 26.72. The 4x400m relay team of Mogren, Campbell, Lundgren and Buske won by 11 seconds with a time of 4:12.15.

Maggie Bair led a quartet of Saints that swept the top four spots in the 60m hurdles. Bair's winning time was 9.33. Brea Durovec(Meadowlands, Minn./Floodwood HS) was second, Hannah Russert third and Emily Schwantke fourth in that event.

Bair also won the pole vault as that competition had to go to a jump off. Bair and Whitney White of Minnesota Morris both cleared 9'9.75" (2.99m).

Danielle Dickson was victorious in the long jump with a leap of 16'6" (5.03m). Alex Barsody was second, Mogren third and Rachael Hoium fourth. Katharine Roetering took the triple jump indoor title with a mark of 34'1.5" (10.40m). Hoium was runner-up in that event.

Becky Huberty swept the throwing events, which is becoming a regular routine. The senior won the weight throw with a UMAC meet record of 56'0.5" (17.08m). She also broke the meet record in the shot put with a toss of 44'9.5" (13.65m).

The 4x200m relay team of Rachel Harmston Barsody, Hoium and Schwantke placed second with a time of 1:53.21. Olivia Krejcarek was runner-up in the high jump, clearing 4'10.25" (1.48m).
