Fife, Holzhueter each earn third UMAC Weekly honor of season
MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
F Galen Holzhueter, Martin Luther College
Holzhueter broke the career scoring record for the MLC men's basketball program over the weekend, and averaged 27.0 points per game on 59.0 percent shooting to go with 7.0 rebounds per game.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
F Jessica Fife, University of Northwestern
Fife averaged 22.5 points per game in weekend contests, including a career-high 32 points scored in Friday's game versus Martin Luther. The senior followed that performance with a Saturday scoring total of 13, capping off the Eagles' two games with a 84.2 field goal percentage. In all, Fife made 16 of her 19 attempts from the floor in 49 minutes played.
MEN'S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Jeremy Peterson, College of St. Scholastica
Peterson won both the shot put and weight throw at the Super 8 Open hosted by Bemidji State this weekend. His toss in shot put of 14.67 m/48-1.75 was four centimeters shy of tying the school record. Jeremy also had a career best in the weight throw with a toss of 15.63 m/51-3.50.
WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Becky Huberty, College of St. Scholastica
Huberty won both the shot put and weight throw at the Super 8 Open hosted by Bemidji State this weekend. Becky broke the school record in the shot put with a toss of 13.50 m/44-3.50, a mark that currently ranks her fourth in NCAA Division III. Her toss in the weight throw of 17.24 m/ 56-6.75 is just shy of the school record and currently ranks third in NCAA Division III.
