Saints lead the way in UMAC Men's Cross Country Awards
ST. PAUL – At the conclusion of Saturday’s Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Men’s Cross Country Championship the top 12 individual runners were awarded with all-conference honors
The College of Saint Scholastica led the list of honorees with four runners earning the accolades. Chris Lawson led the way for the Saints winning the eight-kilometer men’s race with a time of 26:37.8. In addition, St. Scholastica was named the 2013 UMAC Men’s Cross Country Champions, finishing with a team score of 28 points.
Joining the four Saints on the all-conference list were three runners from Martin Luther College. The University of Minnesota Morris and North Central University each had pair of runners finish in the top 12 while one runner from Bethany Lutheran College also earned the honor.
Saints head coach Steve Pfingsten was selected by his peers as the 2013 UMAC Men’s Cross Country Coach of the Year following St. Scholastica’s fifth consecutive men’s title.
Martin Luther College won the team sportsmanship award, an accolade that is selected by the UMAC coaches and awarded to the team who best represents sportsmanship throughout the entire season, which included the championship event. The following individuals were named to the individual
