UMAC announces Player of the Week winners for Week 4

FOOTBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
RB Josh Sinnen, Northwestern College
Josh Sinnen crossed the goal line three times in Northwestern's win over MacMurray. The sophomore turned in a great rushing performance with 77 yards on six carries and two TDs while catching one pass for an 82-yard score.






FOOTBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
LB Cody Hickman, University of Minnesota Morris

Minnesota Morris' Cody Hickman had a career high-22 tackles against Greenville College on Saturday while also recovering a fumble in the game.






FOOTBALL SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
P Jake Church, College of St. Scholastica
St. Scholastica's Jake Church landed five of his six punts inside the 20-yard line in Saturday's defeat of Martin Luther to tie a Saints program record.






MEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Reed Sorensen, Crown College

Crown's Reed Sorensen shot a 77 to take third place at the Minnesota Morris Cougar Open last Thursday before following up with a score of 70 to win medalist honors at the Viking Invitational on Friday.






MEN'S SOCCER OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
F Ebrima Badgie, University of Minnesota Morris

Ebrima Badgie scored for the third and fourth consecutive games, which includes three game-winning goals to lead the Cougars to a 3-1 start in UMAC play.






MEN'S SOCCER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
D Ben Cullen, College of St. Scholastica

Ben Cullen was part of a St. Scholastica defense that recorded two clean sheets last week. Cullen also got on the score sheet himself on offense, tallying two assists throughout his 180 minutes of play.






WOMEN'S SOCCER OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
F Taylor Cunningham, College of St. Scholastica
Taylor Cunningham had two goals and four assists for eight points in two games as the Saints swept their UMAC competition last week. 







WOMEN'S SOCCER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
M/D Bridget Hennen, Bethany Lutheran College

Bridget Hennen helped Bethany Lutheran's defense as the Vikings earned their first UMAC weekend sweep in almost two years. Hennen's marks have gone scoreless through four conference games.






MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Derek Schlager, Northwestern College

Northwestern's Derek Schlager posted an 8k time of 26:47.34 at Friday's UW-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational, which bested his prior top 8k race by 46 seconds. Schlager's finish in the race placed him 49th out of 295 runners.






WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Sammy Wong, Northwestern College

Sammy Wong was Northwestern's top runner for the first time this season as she posted a 6k time of 24:57 at UW-Eau Claire's Blugold Invitational. Wong bested her September 15 6k time by nearly two minutes.






VOLLEYBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
MH Shelby Wiederhoeft, Bethany Lutheran College
Shelby Wiederhoeft averaged 4.86 kills per set and a .435 hitting percentage in the first week of UMAC competition as Bethany Lutheran went 1-1.






VOLLEYBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
MH Rachel Hein, Martin Luther College

Rachel Hein averaged 1.88 blocks per set while helping Martin Luther to a 3-0 record and holding opponents to a -.003 attacking percentage for the week. On the offensive side of the ball, Hein averaged 3.12 kills per set.






VOLLEYBALL SETTER OF THE WEEK
S Krista Stoltz, Northwestern College

Krista Stoltz averaged 12.43 assists per set, helping Northwestern open conference action with a 2-0 record. The Eagles hit .248 as a team with Krista's setting in the two matches.
