Saints Headline UMAC Women's Cross Country Post-season Awards
ST. PAUL -- At the conclusion of Saturday's Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Women's Cross Country Championship, the top 12 runners from the race were awarded with all-conference honors.
The College of Saint Scholastica led the all-conference list, landing seven runners in the the top 12 to post a team score of 22 points, which won the race. University of Minnesota Morris' Linda Keller earned the individual champion title for the fourth consecutive year, completing the six-kilometer course with a time of 21:34.
Following St. Scholastica's seven all-conference recipients were three runners from Minnesota Morris as well as one runner from North Central University and Martin Luther College.
St. Scholastica head coach Steve Pfingsten was chosen as the UMAC Coach of the Year. Pfingsten and the Saints have won the UMAC Championship for 12 straight years.
Bethany Lutheran College won the team sportsmanship award, an accolade that is selected by the UMAC coaches and recognizes the team that best represents sportsmanship throughout the entire 2012 season, which includes the championship event.
