St. Scholastica's Katie Motley headlines UMAC Women's Tennis All-Conference Awards
ST. PAUL – After sweeping the competition to win their 14th UMAC regular season and tournament championships, the Saints from the College of St. Scholastica claimed six all-conference awards. Katie Motley, who was chosen as the 2010 UMAC Player of the Year, headlined a group of Saints players who all took championship medals home from Saturday’s conference tournament finale.
Motley had little trouble with conference opponents this year, claiming 8-0 records in both singles and doubles play. Motley’s coach, Wells Patten, was named the conference coach of the year after his team went 10-0 in conference matches this season.
Northwestern College had three all-conference award winners while Martin Luther College was represented by two student athletes on the award list.
