ST. PAUL -- Northwestern College men's basketball player Reid Berens became the 22nd individual in the team's history to reach the 1,000-point mark of his collegiate career on Saturday afternoon, joining teammate Stephen Hanson.  Berens turned in a 24-point, 11-rebound performance in a 76-68 win over the College of St. Scholastica to get over the plateau of 1,000 points.

This season, Berens has scored 334 points, averaging 14.5 per game.  The senior has made 55 percent of his attempts from the field, and has been a major contributor to Northwestern's UMAC championship season.  Berens was a member of the All-UMAC first team in 2008-09.
