ST. PAUL -- Following a week’s worth of excitement that culminated with Saturday’s Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Tournament championship game, the league announced its postseason awards on Monday afternoon.

Northwestern College, who finished second in the conference standings, led the pack with five first team awards, followed by Bethany Lutheran College and the College of St. Scholastica, who each had four first team all-conference selections. Northland College and the University of Minnesota, Morris each had three accolades on the first team list.

The Eagles’ Rebekah Kirby was chosen as the UMAC Offensive Player of the Year, who led the league with 14 goals and 34 points in conference games. St. Scholastica’s Megan Flesvig was named the UMAC’s Defensive Player of the Year after leading her team to first in goals allowed (0.29 per game) and goals against average (0.28 per game) in league affairs.

Earning Co-Rookie of the Year Awards was St. Scholastica’s Taylor Cunningham and Martin Luther College’s Bethany Schulz. Cunningham was sixth in the UMAC in both shots and shots per game, while Schultz finished second in the conference in points and third in points per game.

St. Scholastica head coach Dave Reyelts earned UMAC Coach of the Year honors, having guided his team to its seventh consecutive regular season championship and an undefeated 13-0-1 mark in conference play.
