PLAYER OF THE WEEK AWARDS

Men's Cross Country
Nathan Loersch - JR | Martin Luther College

Nathan Loersch took first place at the Crown College Invitational, beating the field with a time of 27:37.

Women's Cross Country
Linda Keller - FR | University of Minnesota, Morris

In her first collegiate race, Linda Keller won the Crown College Invitational by a one minute margin with a time of 22:06.  Keller also bested the Minnesota, Morris school record for a 6k race by two minutes.

Men's Golf
Dean Goodwin - JR | North Central University

Dean Goodwin earned his second straight medalist honor after firing a even-par 72 at the UMAC Regular Season Invitational.  Goodwin's five birdies paced his team to a tournament victory.

Football North Division Offensive
Christopher Henagin - SR | RB | College of St. Scholastica

In St. Scholastica's 33-8 win over Maranatha Baptist Bible, Christopher Henagin rushed 21 times for 147 yards and three touchdowns.  The win was the Saints' first-ever road victory in the program's two-year history.

Football South Division Offensive
Gio Martin - FR | RB | MacMurray College
In MacMurray's 32-28 loss to Aurora, Martin rushed 20 times for 105 yards and a touchdown.  Through the air, Martin caught six passes for 50 yards and a touchdown.  He also had two touchdown returns on special teams.

Football North Division Defensive
Scott Greening - SO | S | College of St. Scholastica

Scott Greening became the first St. Scholastica player to record multiple interceptions in one game, picking off Maranatha Baptist Bible twice on Saturday to go with six tackles.  The sophomore also broke up two Maranatha passes.

Football South Division Defensive
Tobias Alaribe - JR | LB | MacMurray College

Tobias Alaribe tallied seven tackles, three tackles for a loss and two sacks in MacMurray's loss to Aurora.

Football North Division Special Teams
Kyle Thomforde - SR | KR | Northwestern College

Kyle Thomforde returned five kicks for 178 yards and a touchdown in Northwestern's loss to Simpson on Saturday.  His touchdown came after a 96-yard return.

Football South Division Special Teams
Edgar Townsend = SR | PR | Greenville College

In Greenville's loss to Augustana (Ill.), Edgar Townsend returned a pair of punts for 91 yards and a touchdown.

Men's Soccer Offensive
Joshua Odukomaya - FR | F | College of St. Scholastica

In a 2-0 week for St. Scholastica, Joshua Odukomaya scored three goals to with an assist for seven points.  His hat trick helped the Saints win their first UMAC game of 2009 against Northland.

Men's Soccer Defensive
Sam Reed - SO | GK | College of St. Scholastica

St. Scholastica's Sam Reed posted a shutout against conference opponent Northland while earning another win against Concordia-Moorhead, allowing just one goal in two games.

Volleyball Hitter
Trisha Burr - SO | OH | Crown College

In two wins for Crown, Trisha Burr averaged 3.8 kills per set and an attacking percentage of .555.  Burr, an outside hitter, played all six rotations in both matches.

Volleyball Defensive
Danielle Rhodes - JR | L | Northwestern College

In a 2-2 week that included losses to a pair of AVCA Top 25 teams, Danielle Rhodes averaged 4.29 digs per set in 14 sets, including 22 digs against No. 13 Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
