HEADLINES

Minnesota-Morris, Northwestern picked as teams to beat in UMAC Men's Basketball
Northwestern College and the University of Minnesota, Morris, a pair of teams who were one and two games out of first place at the end of the 2008-09 season, were predicted to win the UMAC Men’s Basketball Conference Championship according to the league’s coaches.

Northland tops UMAC Women's Basketball Preseason Poll
Northland College, winner of the 2008-09 UMAC Women’s Basketball Championship, was predicted to win the conference title yet again in 2009-10 according to a poll of the league's coaches. The Lumberjills received 46 points and four first place votes in the poll.

UMAC Champion Northwestern leads volleyball all-conference listing with four first team awards
In the same way that Northwestern College handily won the UMAC regular season championship for the third year in a row, the Eagles boasted five individuals on the league’s all-conference first team.

Football South Division Offensive
Carl Givens - SO | WR | Westminster College
In the Westminster 49-26 route over MacMurray, Carl Givens caught 13 passes for 240 yards and three touchdowns.

Football South Division Defense
Gus Lyles - FR | LB | Westminster College
Gus Lyles led the Blue Jay defense with 13 tackles, including three tackles for a loss and a sack.  Lyles also added three quarterback hurries in Westminster's win.
