Six women and three men recently earned recognition from the NSCAA after being named to their scholar all-region teams.
In the same way that last Saturday’s UMAC Men’s Soccer Postseason Tournament officially ended in a tie, both St. Scholastica and Minnesota, Morris boasted seven all-conference accolades as the league released its 2009 postseason awards on Tuesday.
The College of St. Scholastica swept all three of the UMAC Postseason Tournaments last weekend, winning the men's soccer, women's soccer and volleyball tournament crowns.
In their first year three seasons ago, the Cougar men’s soccer team looked like a new organization, posting a 3-11-4 record, good for sixth place in the UMAC. This year, Morris posted a 13-1 first place finish.
Both the Saints and Cougars received 46 points and four first place votes in the preseason coaches’ poll, leaving the decision to the 2009 season to settle the score.
